Aungier Street Student Accommodation Nears Completion

The Aungier Street student accommodation is approaching the final stages of construction with 3 of the 4 blocks complete and fit-out in progress. With an expected completion date of April 2020, this city centre student accommodation facility consists of 298 bedrooms, ground floor retail units, a gym and basement. Based in the heart of historical Dublin city the blocks are bordered by Aungier Street, Stephen Street and Longford Street.
 

To conserve the archaeological sensitivity of the site the entire building sits on strategically placed piles. Three adjacent historic buildings are being restored to also accommodate student studio apartments and retail units. Prior to construction extensive archaeological digs and investigations were undertaken. The whole block creates a place of historical respect combined with modern architecture conveniently located in the city centre.

These images taken at the end of August capture the final roof slab pour of Block 1 of the main RC framed structure which is the curved block that faces onto Stephens Street Upper.
 

The main RC framed structure includes Block 1 on Stephens St Upr, Block 2 along Longford St and Block 4 is the central tower block in the middle of the site.
 

Block 3 is the conservation block which is the steel framed structure which is still under construction facing onto Aungier St itself.
