City Quay Wins Commercial Office Building of the Year
Congratulations to all at Bennett Construction for taking home the top prize Commercial Office Building of the Year for the Grant Thornton building on City Quay last Friday the 29th November at the Irish Building and Design Awards.
DBFL consulted on construction with Bennett Construction Ltd and Henry J Lyons Architects. We are delighted to have been a part of this spectacular building.
The 10 storey, c.14,000sqm building sits proudly on the southside quays between the Matt Talbot Bridge and Sean O’Casey Bridge. Constructed in the heart of Dublin’s central business district beside the Church of Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The bright glass and aluminium structure lights up the city evenings with its large windows and cleverly placed mood lighting. This is a truly modern and sophisticated building adorned with greenly landscaped roof terraces and high energy efficient design.
Packed with all the modern needs of contemporary work/life balance there are changing rooms, showers and storage for office workers in the basement. Full-length floor to ceiling glazing fills the offices with natural light that is fractured and arranged by the building’s bronze anodised aluminium frames. As a result, workers are treated to great views over the Liffey in an open and bright space.
