DBFL Takes on the Walktober Step Challenge

DBFL staff took on the Walktober Step challenge this year with a slightly different approach. Marching along the streets in their local areas as part of remote teams, our steppers came across some beautiful scenery while working safely from home and the office.

See our video of our walkers out and about enjoying the many sights and greenery Ireland has to offer.

Hosted by The National Transport Authority, Walktober is a fun & free annual step challenge to help build team spirit and encourage your colleagues to stick on their shoes and get walking (while maintaining a safe social distance and adhering to current government guidelines). Walktober is a great way to encourage a regular walking routine while encouraging long-term physical activity and modal shift.
Smarter Travel Workplaces and Smarter Travel Campus are national voluntary behaviour change programmes, supporting employers and third level institutions to implement workplace travel plans. These plans focus on encouraging staff and students to walk, cycle, take public transport and carpool on the commute and beyond, and for organisations to consider flexible working arrangements.
