The Farranshoneen Waterford Green Route Section forms a Green Route along the Outer Ring Road from Dunmore Road to the L1023 Williamstown Road, Waterford. The entire scheme runs to a distance of approximately 950m.
The overall scheme aimed to provide bus priority measures, on & off-road cycle lanes, new footpaths & combined footpaths and cycle tracks, bus stops and improved pedestrian infrastructure including signalised junction enhancements, pedestrian crossings and facilities for the mobility impaired.
The scheme included the installation of a cycle network along the Outer Ring Road from Dunmore Road to the L1023 Williamstown Road, Waterford. The scheme includes the following elements;
-New cycle lanes, tracks and paths to include both on-road, off-road and raised adjacent types
-New footpaths and combined footpaths and cycle paths
-New bus stops
-New road junction
-Improvements to Esker Drive roundabout to include realignment, carriageway adjustment and pedestrian facilities
-Improvements to existing and new junctions to facilitate cyclists
