Grangegorman

DBFL Consulting Engineers were engaged as a key member of a design team led by Coady Architects in appraisal of ten protected structures on the Grangegorman campus (new DIT campus) that required full condition survey. This work demanded a high level of liaison and site control to minimise intervention and disturbance while achieving satisfactory survey information in a safe and efficient manner.

The project involved carrying out a detailed building investigative survey for each protected structure. These surveys provided a comprehensive record of each buildings history, their current condition and requirements for conservation and stabilisation.

The brief expanded to include stabilisation and refurbishment of the Clock Tower building as offices for the GDA and stabilisation and protection of the derelict listed Lower House and Church of Ireland Building on the campus.
