This project forms part of the regeneration of the Sheriff Street area of Dublin’s inner city. It consists of a 9-storey concrete framed building which includes 5 stories of residential units over commercial and enterprise units.
The entire building site sits over a 90-space underground carpark. Because of the large variety of uses at each level one of the main challenges for DBFL was to devise a structural layout that would allow for direct transfer of all loads to the foundations while minimising the effect of the structure on the proposed architectural layout.
The building also includes high-level 12m span link bridges between both residential blocks incorporating heavy landscaping and glazed architectural steelwork walkways around the courtyard. The main facades are clad in precast concrete architectural panels.
