Holy Faith Sisters Generalate
The development consists of the construction of a part single, part two-storey religious and community building located on the grounds of the Holy Faith Order at its convent in Glasnevin. This facility providing a lecture space, event space, offices, counselling and therapy rooms, a sacred space and two external terraces at ground level and a roof terrace at first floor level. The project included the formation of a pedestrian path and ramp to the existing internal path network, provision of a vehicle set-down area, 5 no. car parking spaces and all other associated site development works below and above ground to facilitate the development.
The single / double storey Spirituality Centre is supported on stepped strip foundations which follow the sloping site, (approximately 3.0m across site.) The superstructure comprises a steel frame with a suspended concrete ground floor, metal deck with concrete topping to the first floor and a green roof supported on metal decking and pressed metal purlins. A feature cantilevered staircase is located on the east elevation and is achieved with projecting steel beam supports with steel threads and risers. The external facade to the building is clad in opaque glass panels supported off the perimeter steel structure.
