West Apron Access Road

€2 million

DBFL have been commissioned by Dublin Airport Authority (daa) for the design, construction, commissioning and testing of approximately 1Km of new road construction within the airside area of Dublin Airport.
This new road, known as the West Apron Crossing (WAC) will provide a new service link between the West Apron area and the main apron area of the Airport.

The works involve the crossing of a number of IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) airside-controlled areas including Apron 5G, Taxiway F-Outer, Taxiway Romeo and Runway 16/34. Therefore, along with being designed in accordance with all relevant roads and drainage standards such as the TII and GDSDS specifications, the WAC has also been designed in accordance with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations for Aerodrome Design and has a design life of 20 years.

Construction has commenced for this new road which has an 18-week construction programme and is due to be commissioned and operational in early October 2019.
