Remediation Milestone Reached

Last Friday the Minister for Housing, Local Government & Heritage, Darragh O’Brien, handed over the keys to the 2000th remediated house completed under the Pyrite Resolution Board’s Pyrite Remediation Scheme (PRS).

DBFL were delighted to be present at this milestone event. Since 2014 DBFL have provided consultancy services to the PRS and have been responsible for the specification and inspection for completion of over 60% of all properties remediated. During 2006/2007 DBFL established the engineering principles which explained the manner in which pyritic stone beneath the floor slabs acted in causing damage to the buildings and spearheaded the remedial specifications to resolve this widespread problem enabling owners to reoccupy their houses securely.
