Strategic Link Road progressing at Southgreen, Kildare

 
The finished road will connect the localities of Southgreen, Hill Road, Old Road and Dunmurry Road with Kildare town centre and will provide alternative route options to the M7, Kildare train station, Newbridge and Rathangan.
 

 
The scheme involves junction improvements and improved pedestrian and cyclist facilities on the adjoining roads with 500m of 6.5m wide new carriageway with off road cycle lanes and footpaths with 1 roundabout, a staggered junction and a signalised junction.
 

 
The works also involve 450m of road resurfacing and junction improvements including traffic signal and public lighting upgrades.
 

 
The infrastructure project aims to deliver a strategic roads link for Kildare town in accordance with the Kildare Town Local Area Plan with the completed road to be handed over to Kildare County Council.
