The Quarter at Citywest

Construction is rapidly progressing at The Quarter at Citywest which is the second phase of Cairn Homes’ strategic housing development at Cooldown Commons, immediately adjacent to the N82 to the east, and Fortunestown Luas stop to the south of the site. 

Phase 2 comprises of 282 apartments across 6 blocks, each 6 storeys, with amenities such as a gym and a creche (with external play area), with an underground car-park housing 130 car spaces and bicycle parking.

The project marries a unique combination of off-site components with contemporary on-site construction methods to create a fast and efficient build. 

This has been facilitated through an efficient mix of DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) and in-situ construction techniques. The use of precast concrete columns and twin wall systems provide speed in the delivery and erection of vertical elements and the use of RC flat slabs allows flexibility in the internal fit-out and the passage of services.

Pre-built bathroom pods arrive on site fully furnished and ready to be plumbed into the finished units, saving money and time with a pristine finish. Only a small amount of added insulation needs to be added around the pods as they fit perfectly into place into each apartment unit as required.
