DBFL has a significant and expanding workload in their transportation engineering & planning department and is seeking to recruit Transportation Engineers/Planners with 1-3 years’ experience. Typical projects include:
*The design and development of Active Travel Schemes from concept, optioneering to detailed design & construction
*Preparation of Local Transport Plans to Area Based Transportation Assessments for large towns, Travel Plans & TTA’s for developments of varying sizes from large campuses to residential developments
*Working as part of multidisciplinary design teams and partners in developing transport networks for new towns, residential & commercial developments in accordance with DMURS
*The design of bus priority schemes (preliminary and detailed design)
*The design of traffic management schemes (including environmental improvement and traffic calming schemes of towns and villages)
*Design of Mobility Hubs promoting Micro-mobility and Mobility as a Service (MaaS)
*Intelligent Transport Systems
*Road Safety, Quality & Accessibility Audits
*Providing assistance to other departments in DBFL (roads layouts for developments, car park design, service yard design)
The successful candidate will be involved in providing services ranging from transportation assessments, traffic engineering and management through to the design of urban traffic control systems.
The following will be required of the successful candidate:
*1-3 years’ traffic and transport experience
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Ideally be proficient in the use of MS Word & Excel
*Ideally proficient in modelling software such as Junctions 9/10 and TRANSYT/LINSIG
*Experience in GIS & InDesign would be beneficial
*A current driver’s licence is desirable but not essential
DBFL is accredited to the Engineers Ireland national CPD standard and CPD events and initiatives will be a feature of the position within the office. The successful candidate may join the DBFL Graduate Development Programme to support progress to Chartership via Engineers Ireland/Irish Planning Institute
