DBFL were appointed by Meath County Council on this €5m LIHAF project which included the construction of approximately 1.2km of single lane carriageway road & associated services on a greenfield site.
The works include junction upgrades and tie in works to the existing R153 and Old Road; 3 new roundabouts; a new culvert crossing the Mill Race Stream; footpaths and cycleways.
A new 650m strategic gravity sewer of 750mm diameter to depths up to 6.5m is included in the works..

Additional Irish Water works included 1716m of rising foul mains of diameters varying between 100mm and 250mm associated infrastructure & 850m of strategic ductile iron water main of 500mm diameter with associated infrastructure; SUDS management included a surface water attenuation pond, 300m of stone infiltration trenches and one 20m diameter stonefill soakaway to depths of up to 4.5m.
Utilities requirements included 1.5km trenching, ducting and backfilling works to accommodate the undergrounding of a 38kV ESB supply line. The works extends beyond the extent of the roadway; works to facilitate the temporary alteration of the 38kV line to facilitate construction works where deemed necessary by the ESB. 1.1km of gas distribution main and spur connections, 1.1km of PE water main of 180mm dia. with spur connections; local communication and electrical supply trenches, ducting, access chambers.
