Danny Pio Murphy Wins D&I Leader/Emerging Leader Award

We are incredibly proud at DBFL today as we celebrate Danny Pio Murphy, who was announced as joint winner of the D&I Leader/Emerging Leader Award at the 2026 National Diversity and Inclusion Awards last Friday night.

DBFL’s EDI team were delighted to be there to share this special moment with Danny and to celebrate a truly outstanding achievement. The award recognises his phenomenal contribution to EDI both within DBFL and across the wider engineering sector.

Danny has played a pivotal role in shaping DBFL’s EDI journey from the very beginning. As a founding member of the company’s EDI team, he helped develop and launch DBFL’s first EDI Action Plan in 2020, contributing to a five-year programme that led to achieving Investors in Diversity Gold Accreditation in 2025

The award also acknowledges Danny’s impact beyond DBFL. As a founding member and current Chair of Engineers Ireland’s Inclusion and Diversity Society, he has been instrumental in embedding EDI within the organisation’s ongoing work. In addition through his involvement with the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI), Danny has advised on strategy, helping to incorporate EDI principles across governance, professional standards and sector-wide collaboration.
