Engineers Week 2022

A whistle-stop slideshow tour looking back on the fantastic work carried out by DBFL’s STEPS team for Engineers Week 2022. Our team of 18 volunteer engineers had a busy March visiting primary schools as well as hosting Transition Year students on DBFL’s 3-day Engineering Your Future Programme.

The team delivered presentations and activities to 9 primary school classes in total, capturing the attention of over 220 primary school students hopefully inspiring and educating them about them about the wonderful world of engineering.

DBFL were delighted to once again take part in Engineers Ireland Engineering Your Future Programme, catering for 13 Transition Year students on our 3-day Engineering Your Future Programme. The TY students enjoyed Civil, Structural, Transportation and Sustainability Presentations & workshops, as well as being accompanied on two site visits seeing the engineering works that are currently underway on Francis Street as part of Dublin City Council’s Environmental Improvement Scheme and also paying a visit to one of our many commercial developments at Haymarket, Smithfield. The programme also included a super interactive in-person session from Rediscovery Workshop as well as a Microsoft Dreamspace workshop.

Our thanks to Engineers Ireland for all their support to help us deliver these programmes especially Kate Cannon and Roseanne O’Leary. Also thanks to Ali, Rossa and Megan from Rediscovery Workshop and Amanda Joliffe and Neeve Hyland from Microsoft Dreamspace.
