BackLGBTQ+ Pride Month celebrations
It was a huge privilege for DBFL’s Diversity and Inclusion team to continue our LGBTQ+ Pride Month celebrations with such an engaging session from the impressive and highly celebrated, Dr. Mark McBride-Wright MBE CEng MIChemE.
Mark led our employees, both in-person and remote, on an inspiring discussion on LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Engineering and impactful positive interventions on organisational culture change for wider Diversity and Inclusion. He presented some of his thought-provoking research on Masculinity in Engineering, inclusive leadership in engineering, and LGBTQ+ in engineering.
As a D&I thought leader Mark shared his own experiences in the engineering industry to date, and provided a lot of insightful advice and examples on how we might continue developing a diverse and inclusive culture in our organisation as well as taking responsibility in the wider industry and community.
Today’s talk was the culmination of a month-long series at DBFL to celebrate and bring awareness to LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Throughout the month we highlighted LGBTQ+ engineering excellence, inclusion and role models internally and externally, while creatively teaching, and generating awareness of the LGBTQ+ community, its history and culture and the importance of Pride.
