DBFL Takes on the Walktober Step Challenge

This October DBFL have been participating in Walktober!

The NTA and Transport for Ireland have teamed up as part of the Smarter Travel Workplaces and Campus initiatives to make October the step challenge month. Walktober is a fun, free walking challenge where teams aim to increase their daily step counts.

This year our teams have been out and about every day getting their steps in and we’re now on track to be in the organizational top 10 leader board.

DBFL is a member of the Smarter Travel Workplaces programme. Throughout the year there will be a number of challenges organised by the National Transport Authority relating to walking, cycling etc. Things have been getting pretty competitive between teams within DBFL but it is all for fun and to celebrate good health and environmental awareness.

As part of the National Transport Authority’s initiative for smarter travel we have encouraged our staff to let us know how we can help them travel better. In September we conducted a company wide survey to find out more about how our people travel to work.

While we have a large cohort of cyclists, those walking to work, and Public Transport commuters, we can always do better! DBFL is committed to promoting stress-free, active and sustainable commuting for employees.
