Meath Street Public Realm Improvement Scheme Progress
How do you improve a busy historic street while creating a safer, more accessible place for the people who use it every day?
Works are progressing well on the Meath Street Public Realm Improvement Scheme in Dublin 8, supporting the ongoing rejuvenation of one of The Liberties’ most established market and retail streets.
Working with Dublin City Council, Cairn Construction and the wider project team, DBFL is providing detailed design and PSDP services.
The scheme will re-balance street space to create a more accessible, pedestrian-friendly environment, with improved pedestrian facilities, new crossings, high-quality paving and kerbing, new trees, upgraded public lighting, seating and street furniture.
The project demonstrates how considered engineering and public realm design can help improve established urban streets while supporting their continued commercial and community role.
