The Kilmeaden to Bilberry railway line is 9.4 kilometres in length. The route is an extension to an overall cross county greenway from Dungarvan to Kilmeaden which was approved under Part 8 Planning in April 2014. This section of the Greenway has a working railway.

DBFL were initially appointed to develop detailed design proposals on five existing railway bridges adjacent to the existing railway line between Kilmeaden and Bilberry in County Waterford.

These five bridges had been identified along the proposed greenway development between Kilmeaden and Bilberry that either needed to be widened or the construction of a new bridge required to facilitate the greenway.

A further 3 bridges were later identified by the client to be widened.
